How are duplicates identified?
The fuzzy-matching engine uses the fields you have selected for comparison and compares data within
them using a complex algorithm. This
fuzzy-logic data matching algorithm doesn’t rely on dictionary matching or
phonics rules – so all misspellings, abbreviations and foreign-language names
(which are outside of any dictionary or phonics rule set) are still examined
with the same high degree of accuracy as any other data. The fuzzy-matching engine also checks values across
fields, so when a first name is mistakenly placed in a surname field it will
still be found and compared to every other first name in the dataset. Related Topics | ||||||||||
